What's Inside
Introduction and contents
Articulate is a human-centered organization, which means we consider the impact to people in everything we do. You might wonder,
“How does a human-centered organization approach AI? Can a policy about how we use AI— or, how we use data and algorithms—be human-centered?”
The answer is yes, absolutely! In fact, we see it as an obligation—to our employees, our customers, and the learners we serve.
Firstly, Articulate views AI as an accelerator of human creativity and productivity, not as a replacement for human ingenuity. In other words, we believe AI can enhance human capabilities if used effectively.
Foundational to our policy is the view that AI can serve as a creative partner. To maximize that partnership and remain aligned with our human-centered values, it is our responsibility to uphold principles of transparency, equity, security, accuracy, and privacy.
Interest in AI tools has exploded, and our employees and customers wanted access to these tools to amplify creativity and innovation. Yet that excitement comes with responsibilities to protect our company, employees, and customers. We heard this same pain point from our customers and wanted to help.
This guide is a peek at how we approached drafting an AI policy while centering our values. Every company is different, and your policy will look different from ours depending on your business, legal and ethical obligations, and many other factors.
